Item No. 2 :- Quota of IP line inPS Group “B” Examination on introduction of Postmaster Cadre in Postal Wing.
Out of 866 posts of PS Group “B”, 116 posts of Senior Postmaster have been earmarked for Postmaster Cadre in the manner given below :
87 posts through LDCE
29 post through DPC
Thus, 750 posts still remain in PS Group “B”. These posts may be divided among IP Line and General Line as suggested below by suitable amendment in Recruitment Rules of PS Group “B”.
No. of Group B posts available for General Line officials:
Number of Group B posts available for General Line Officials prior to introduction of Postmaster Cadre (6% of 866)
No. of posts in PS Group “B” through Examination (3% of 750)
No. of posts in Sr. Postmaster Grade through DPC(25% of 116)
Total posts available for General Line
Thus, General Line Officials are not loosing any Group “B” posts due to introduction of Postmaster Cadre.
No. of Group “B” posts available for IP Line Officials:
No. of Group “B” posts available for IP Line Officials prior to introduction of Postmaster Cadre (94% of 866)
No. of posts in PS Group “B” through examination (19 % of 866)
No. of posts in Sr. Postmaster Gradethrough LDCE (75% of 116)
No. of posts in PS Group “B” through LDCE – proposed (10% of 750)
Total posts available for IP Line through examination
No. of posts in PS Gr. B through DPC – proposed (87% of 750)
Total posts available for IP Line in PS Gr. B + Sr. Postmaster
Thus, IP Line officials will loose only three posts in examination quota but will get these posts by promotion by DPC. Overall, there is no change in the quota of IP and General Line.
In view of the above facts, it is requested to kindly reconsider and implement the proposal by taking appropriate action to amend the PS Group “B” Recruitment Rules.
